Today's "picture of the day". We saw this nice gentleman while driving through a small town in Arkansas.

Toad Suck Park

While traveling through Conway, Arkansas, we noticed this sign for Toad Suck Park. When I asked one of the local residents about it, he told me that in May of each year they celebrate "Toad Suck Daze", downtown at Toad Suck Square, where there is a giant painting of a toad on the street. He says this festival draws people from all around. Apparently, "It's the one weekend where toads reign supreme and the toadmaster rules the day."
I "googled it" and it's for real! I've seen it all!.........or...have I?

Photo A Day Project 2007

On Jan. 1st, 2005 I embarked on a year long self challenge to create and post a creative and interesting photo every day for the entire year. It was a wonderfully challenging experience. It truly made me look at the world differently. Every single day, whether I felt like it or not, even if I was sick or out of town, I created and posted my photo for that day. At times, it was very difficult and I wondered if I could keep it up. Thanks to the encouragement from my wonderful friends and family, I finally made it! I did learn a lot and sharpened my creative skills along the way. Thanks to all who helped me along.

Well, here we are in 2007. A lot has changed since then. I have since gone full time at my photography business and my workload has increased dramatically. I am now steadily working, shooting weddings, portraits, events, commercial photos and more. I am truly blessed to be doing what I love for a living.

Interestingly, since 2005, I have gotten numerous comments from friends, family and even people I have never met that they miss my photo-a-day. It seems it had developed quite a following! Though the project was extremely difficult at times and I was very relieved when the last day was done, I have found myself missing it too.

Artistic talent must be continually challenged and nurtured in order to grow. It's time to grow again! I am a little late, but better late than never! Here we go again! It starts March 1st!

Ok, friends, family, etc........Now comes your part in this. As I explore the world in search of interesting subjects to photograph, I will need your help and ideas. Contact me asap and invite me to photograph you or a part of your world. Many helped me with this before and really enjoyed it. Let's see what we can come up with!

Bridal Show 2

The Stillwater Bridal Fair was a huge success! I had a great time and met ALOT of people! Kelcie Cantrell volunteered to come and work the show with me. What a great spokesperson she was! Also, what a wonderful testimonial; a satisfied client willing to donate her time to come speak to potential clients on my behalf! I was truly flattered and honored to have her there. I think the brides we met appreciated it too. 2007 is going to be a great year! I am really excited!

Bridal show

The OKC Bridal Show last weekend was a great success, despite the bad weather. This weekend is the Stillwater Bridal Fair at the Payne County Fairgrounds. If you get a chance, stop by and see me!

Production is underway of the photos from Saturday's wedding with Kelcie and Jeremy. It was a wonderful event! Everyone had a great time, including Debra and me. Rudy Youngblood

Rudy Youngblood is the star of Mel Gibson's "Apocalypto". I met him last night in Lawton, Oklahoma at the Carmike Cinemas 8 theatre. He was there signing autographs and meeting his fans at an event organized by the Comanche tribe. Rudy was a super nice guy and very gracious with his fans.

John Schneider

Many of you know him as Bo Duke from "The Dukes OF Hazzard". I met him Thursday when I went to Wichita Falls, Texas to shoot his appearance at Carmike Cinemas' Sikes 10 Theatre. He was there signing autographs and promoting his new movie called "Collier and Company". A huge crowd of people turned out to meet him. John was a really nice guy. Watch for photos of the event on tonysdesignonline in the next day or two.
